We felt the benefits covered under the current CA provided our members with good coverage under any circumstances." Tay Seng Chye, Vice-President of UPAGE added, "The CA is symbolic of a three-year guarantee of worker's welfare. Even with the impending sale of the Gencos, workers can be at ease that their interests will be protected for the next three years."

This book prize to be launched in 2008 will be opened to employees of PowerSeraya and their children who have demonstrated personal leadership and excellence in selected areas, including community involvement. Adds Mr McGregor, "This award is an apt tribute to a man who had been a strong advocate of lifelong education and dedicated himself to promoting education and upskilling of workers. We hope that through this Book Prize, many will be inspired by Nithiah's humble beginnings and passion for people's well being." Mrs Vimalla Nandan who attended the ceremony with her two daughters and son-in-law shared, "Upgrading of worker's skills had been Nithiah's top priority.
